An Exclusive 2022 Annual Forum Sessions Preview
By Karen Wilkinson
As we enter the final countdown to AALNC's 2022 Annual Forum, attendees can look forward to a rich line up of education sessions and networking opportunities, all designed to elevate the LNC in their professional journey.
There are a variety of sessions lined up for the brand new LNC looking at getting started in the profession to very seasoned and experienced LNCs. There are education sessions that cover clinical topics, LNC practice issues, and LNC business concepts offered by attorneys, medical providers, and LNC content experts. There are also a variety of topics including OB litigation; wound care; practice issues including billing review, expert witness practice, and deposition; and report writing and building case chronologies.
Additionally, there are sessions that will discuss trending COVID-19 topics and its impact on nursing and LNC practice, as well as newer LNC topics such as heuristics and how the LNC can better understand how providers make medical decisions. The pre-Forum sessions will have offerings for the new LNC about how to build a case chronology and use templates to build a LNC practice that includes subcontractor LNCs as well as a pre-forum session focused on personal injury litigation and how the LNC works in that area of litigation.
Networking will be live and real after a two year hiatus of virtual networking. There will be opportunities throughout the three days including live interaction in the education sessions with peers and speakers; a welcome reception designed to meet new LNC contacts and build connections and opportunities to grow one’s professional network and LNC business opportunities; opportunities to establish potential mentoring relationships; and a getting involved session to learn more about how to get more involved as a member of AALNC.
Attending Forum is the start for many LNCs to building connections, building confidence in abilities, and learning more about LNC work and opportunities for growth in the LNC profession. It helps connect the LNC to other LNCs nearby and far away and build some new LNC networking relationships as well as grow some working relationships already started in the LNC community. Attending the Forum earns the LNC nursing professional development and continuing education for one’s own RN state licensure requirements but also meets the requirements for pursuing LNC certification or continuing LNCC status.
This year's Forum will truly maintain the gold standard for LNC education and the sessions are not to be missed.
